Abstract
To those of us familiar with deserts, it comes as no
surprise that cacti are seldom the major plants of an
area. Most often, there are some cacti living in association
with a number of shrubs and grasses. Many of the
shrubs of the desert are thorny and most of the remainder
are bitter.
