Painting Fit for a Princess

Abstract

Internationally known Welsh artist
Eric Peake was honored April 11 , 1989
by having his original water color
painting of a pair of Princess of Wales
Australian Parakeets presented by the
N.E. Zoological Society to the real
Princess Diana, H.R.H . Princess of
Wales.
Peake often lends his support to U.S .
specialty societies. Last year he painted
a pair of Spix's Macaws for the Society
of Parrot Breeders and Exhibitors.
The Spix's Macaw print was the first
of a series depicting severely en

angered
species. Proceeds from sales
of the prints went to help fund
avicultural projects (see ad, Watchbird,
June/July '89, page 59).
This same concern for the welfare
of living species has inspired Peake to
help AFA's annual convention raffles
and special fund raisers by donating
beautiful framed prints.
Peake will be at the AFA Phoenix
convention this August. His work will
be available there. It is also regularly
available through Corporate Environments,
this issue, see ad on page 20.
