Abstract
Many things, gentle reader, have transpired since we last visited in this column. Of the many, the one most pertinent to aviculture and the one closest upon my mind right now is the so caUed "Amnesty Act" recently passed by Congress and approved by President Reagan. Without bothersome legal jargon, the jist of the act, it seems to me, is that millions of illegal aliens (chiefly Latin Americans) who can prove residence in the United States prior to a certain elate will be given amnesty and legal status. So be it. I'll leave the fruitless pro and con arguments to those with nothing better to do.
