Seattle Regional Meeting a Success

Abstract

The February Regional Convention and board meeting, held over the extended holiday weekend in Seattle, WA, was enjoyed by over 100 registrants. The convention chairpersons, Mel and Gay Fischer, and committee consisting of Joe and Marge Longo, Don and Barbara Zold, Jim and Suzanne Gunn and Mary Lou Estep, had planned an interesting and informative program. The exciting feature was the breeding program developed in Canada utilizing artificial insemination for propagating endangered falcons. Several other speakers discussed our more common exotic birds. The well-planned weekend culminated in the banquet Sunday night with AFA's 2nd vice-president, Lee Phillips, giving a well-researched and thoughtful talk entitled "What is A.F.A.?" The table decorations consisted of beautiful hanging leaded-glass bird portraits especially made by Donna Haggard.
