Perhaps the
most entertaining
of all the Australian
Grassfinches
is the
Shaftail or Longtailed
Finch
( Poephila acu ticauda).
Of the
three species of
the genus Poe-
phila the Shaftail
is the only one that is truly established in
American aviculture.
