USDA LIFTS IMPORT BAN

Abstract

The USDA imposed ban on importations
of birds from several European,
Asian, and African countries has been
lifted. The ban, imposed on countries
having shipped birds found to exhibit
Newcastle disease (VVND), ostensibly
consisted of a 90 day probationary period,
during which the country in question was
asked by the U.S. to tighten up measures
to prevent further shipment of Newcastle
infested birds to American quarantine
stations.
