Perceptions and Beliefs

Valerie Villarreal

Superstitions have been evaluated in relation to other attributes such as gender and age, although, there hasnt been a vast amount of research done showing the positive relationship between religion and superstitious beliefs among ethnicities. It is believed, by some, that if a person is religious, then that person is less likely to believe and/or follow with superstitious tendencies. In this study, participants reported levels of superstitious beliefs, religious and/or spiritual perceptions and ethnicity. Results revealed no significant correlations for any of the three areas listed above. The implications of these findings will be further discussed.
