About the Journal

Focus and Scope

READ: An Online Journal for Literacy Educators is a peer-reviewed publication of the Literacy Program in the School of Teaching and Learning at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. The READ journal constitutes a forum for research and issues related to literacy education. Submissions address an audience of teachers, teacher educators, and administrators.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts will undergo a blind review by at least two members of the editorial board. Decisions on the acceptance of manuscripts will be made within 6-8 weeks after the submission deadline. Only electronic submissions will be accepted.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Journal History

The first issue of this online was published in December 2015. The journal is open to all literacy professionals (i.e. professors, students, K-12 administrators, and K-12 educators).
