Abstract

This paper presents an efficient and economic technique to obtain vertical profiles for surf-zone wave-induced currents. The current-wave bottom boundary layer is solved in a parameterized manner, while employing a power series aproximation to obtain the solution in the middle layer (extending up to trough level). This "profile extraction technic" has been coupled to a 2DH surf-zone circulation model which is also concisely described. The paper ends with a brief discussion of some obtained results part of the calibration work which is a very much on going task.
