Cefiro is a graduate student organization in the Spanish Department at Texas Tech University. Our purpose is to engage in the investigation and diffusion of cultural expressions concerning Latin America and Spain. On 13-15 April, 2000 we held our "First Annual Texas Tech Graduate Student/Faculty Conference on Latin American and Iberian Languages, Literatures and Cultures". The success of this event encourage us to continued our efforts with this first issue of Cefiro.
