The COMPUSTAT Analysis System

Abstract

The COMPUSTAT Analysis System is an integrated set of software for use with the COMPUSTAT financial data files. The COMPUSTAT service, a data product of Investment Management Sciences, Inc., consists of a number of computer readable libraries of financial, statistical, and market information covering several thousand industrial and non-industrial companies [1, sec. 3, p. 1]. These data form a substantial resource for many types of managerial analysis, academic research, and academic instructional support. Their usefulness is however a function of the available retrieval and analytical software. It is in this area that CAS can be of value to all COMPUSTAT users.
