Política Común
Politica Común is a journal of contemporary thought in a political register.
This project was launched in Spring 2011 as an online journal/digital plataform, and is a cooperative venture between the department of Hispanic Studies at Texas A&M University, 17, Instituto de Estudios Críticos in México, Università degli Studi di Salerno in Italy, the Center for Modern Thought at the University of Aberdeen, and Universidad Complutense in Madrid.

| We assume the task of rethinking the projection of Hispanic Studies in the current global academic field as a sustained reflection of a comparative nature and with a basis in theory. This includes the long history of the territories that joined politically under the name of Spain, its imperial projections in the New World and Asia, the different ways of engaging the task of postcoloniality after 1810 and 1898, particularly in Latin America, and, of course, the history of the Hispanic diaspora in North America and Europe over the last two centuries. The engagement with the civilizational encounter between Hispanic and Anglo intellectuality in the growing borderlands of present-day United States will be of particular interest. | |

Vol 1, No 1 (2011): Política Común
Me perturba fuertemente esto que pertenece a mi historia, que forma parte de mi memoria. Cuando hablo con jóvenes de entre 20 y 25 años, encuentro que El Frontón no les evoca nada en especial. A personas mayores, sobre los 70 años, les recuerda los presos políticos, el cautiverio de Belaunde, el escape de alias “la Gringa”. Para mi generación, hombres y mujeres de entre 40 y 55 años, las imágenes son signo de la guerra interna más cruenta que ha sufrido el Perú y a la que fuimos expuestos durante nuestros años de crecimiento, de afianzamiento como personas. Nos remiten a algo que está aun ahí.
El Frontón es a la vez detritus, resto, presencia mutilada, presencia de una ausencia.
